Later Visits - 1998 & 1999

After our first visit in 1997, we made two more in 1998, and several more in 1999. Each time we go, we seem to have more fun, and we're more eager to return!

Haspin has a lot going for it. Every hill and ravine is fully developed, so it's easy to find something that challenges you. The hills aren't very tall, but many are steep and treacherous, requiring careful control of speed and deft steering. It's big enough to get lost in, but small enough to find your way out of.

They have a campground for overnight stays, and the food at their concession stand is tasty and affordable (a really pleasant surprise!).

Once again, I apologize that there aren't many trail photos. This time out, we didn't stop very often. :-)

The main office at Haspin, on your left as you enter the place. It's $9 per person to ride all day - you'll spend more than that on gasoline.

The friendly staff. They'll get you signed in, answer your questions, and offer advice.

A pretty sight -- four buggies unloaded in the Haspin parking lot, and ready to ride!

A typical trail scene: ravine contours with paths leading everywhere.

Mick Day takes a spin on Haspin's large motocross track. This is a mighty fun course for a buggy, but it was bone dry this trip - and when Haspin's dry, the dust really flies!

Scott Day runs the same course. Turning brakes really help on these curves.

Loaded up and ready to head home.

Left to right, that's Scott Day, his brother Mick, and yours truly.
